About Us

  • ReelHeART Festival Group is a registered Not-For-Profits Arts Organization. Each year we hold a week-long, WorldWide, international independent Film Festival during the 1st week of July held in Toronto, Canada. ReelHeART celebrates the Culture of Film and all Aspects of Indie Filmmaking from Acting, to Script, to Screen. ReelHeART is an open genre Competition for Premieres of Film, Documentaries, Screenplays, and TV Pilots from Around the Block and Around The World from some of the Best in Emerging and Master indie Filmmakers and Screenwriters. We also hold year-round Festivals and Community Events in Toronto, the greater GTA, and Hamilton, Ontario.

Job Description

  • We are seeking a talented Junior Editor to join our team. Your job will be to edit Live Zoom to Facebook Filmmaker Q&A Videos and Live Screenplay Reads, that will be published to our YouTube channel. You will also be responsible to edit Workshops and any previously recorded Live Script Reads. The successful candidate(s) should demonstrate excellent time management skills, the ability to turn a vision into reality, and be highly artistic.

Job Qualifications

  • 1 – 2 years of editing experience with Adobe Premiere, FinalCut or Avid
  • 1 – 2 years experience with After Effects and Adobe Creative Suite
  • DropBox Knowledge – Your own Storage (Google Drive, External Drive)
  • Ability to Download/Upload Footage from various sources
  • Ability to Stabilize Footage (correctly and specifically)
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously and work as part of a team to seamlessly execute goals
  • Ability to Meet Demanding Deadlines – Stay on Track
  • A Keen Eye for Detail, Creative Problem Solving
  • Willingness to Learn, Desire to Advance Skills and Good Practices
  • Bilingual (French) is a Plus

Job Specific Duties/Responsibilities

  • Organize Media the Editing Team Has Acquired
  • Assemble, Sort and Select from Original footage, Clips, Various Sources
  • Select and Organize Main Camera and B-Roll Footage
  • Capture Online Videos
  • Assemble ‘Best Of’ ShowReels


  • Must Have College or University study/degree in the Arts, specifically Video Editing, Film Studies, Film Production, or Practical Editing Experience
  • Or a Combination of Experience in Film, TV, Media or working towards a Degree
  • If Self Taught or Enthusiast, you must provide 1-2 paragraphs on your suitability

Job Requirements

  • Must Have Access To A Private (Single User) Reliable And Functioning Laptop Loaded With MS Office And OS Appropriate Operating Internet Browser
  • Shifts Are 1-2 Shifts Per Week (Minimum)
  • Shifts Are ANY TIME OF DAY (Based on Editor’s Schedule)
