The Production Coordinator/On-Set Representative works closely with the Supervising Producer, Production Manager and the Manager, Technical & Post-Production and other programs and production staff in delivering the production aspects of CFC’s programs. The Production Coordinator is responsible for taking the lead in scheduling, crewing, coordinating and organizing logistical prep of all production activities, as well as acting as the on-set production representative during production. This is a key position within CFC’s production department, responsible for ensuring that a high level of quality, safety and technical proficiency is delivered across our many programs and productions.
Responsibilities:
Act as the Production department’s key point person for the collection and distribution of all prep- and production-related paperwork, and ensuring its completion and delivery
Coordinate the scheduling of all production and post meetings and sessions
Maintain regular communications with filmmaking teams in terms of deadlines
Act as the Production department’s point person with ACTRA, which includes liaising regarding permittee applications, overtime remittance forms, etc.
Create shooting schedules, cast lists, crew lists, call sheets and other production-related documents
Attend pre-production meetings (as needed)
Act as On-Set Representative of the CFC and actively monitor all CFC productions, ensuring that the sets are operating in a safe and professional manner, according to industry standards
Provide hands-on prep- and production-related support to filmmaking teams as required, ensuring that cast, crew, locations, supplies and equipment needs are in place for each production, and provide help where needed to producers
Work closely with and provide direction to the Production Assistant, as well as any other production staff/co-ops/volunteers
Ensure that the CFC production volunteer database is up-to-date and set up to track volunteer’s hours
Manage, track and collect donations in kind from sponsors and suppliers
Oversee inventory and maintain familiarity with all of CFC’s in-house production equipment, including cameras, monitors, sound kits, etc.,; anticipate the technical needs of each production exercise
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years related experience, including production office and on set experience
Strong familiarity with the challenges of production
A passion for film production and comfortable being on a film set
Basic film equipment knowledge
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Exceptional at anticipating needs, multitasking, problem solving, meeting deadlines and workingunder pressure on tight timelines
Must be organized, resourceful and motivated, with strong team building skills
Must be comfortable providing direction to staff, interns and volunteers
Must have valid Ontario Driver’s license
Assets:
Related university degree or college diploma ideal
Current First Aid training certificate
