The Manager, Photo Studio defines differentiating the Holt Renfrew brand by producing elevated photo content. The Manger, Photo Studio partners with creative team to produce photography shoots for and our digital channels.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Direct and evaluate the daily operations of the Photo Studio
  • Manage the overall schedule and capacity of the Photo Studio. Collaborate with Producers, Creative, Fashion Office and Digital Content team to guarantee successful implementation of photography for Holt Renfrew content.
  • Work closely with producers to schedule pre-pros and manage work back schedules for photography & retouching to ensure all projects are delivered on time
  • Manage overall budget and expenses of the Photo Studio to ensure costs are optimized with minimal downtime and errors; ensure capacity, run rate and operating targets are met
  • Oversee and maintain all production needs
  • Manage flow within the photo studio and ensure images are being saved in our organized filing system
  • Build relationships with key internal business partners and vendors; create cross-functional relationships across the organization that promote common values and objectives
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for the improvement of processes to provide exceptional customer service within the creative production team
  • Lead, motivate, and retain a team of high performing Photo Studio employees and freelancers that is capable of delivering results on time and on budget
  • Scout locations if necessary
  • Oversee studio maintenance including but not limited to cleaning, supplies, and props etc.
  • Organize the selection, collection and return of all clothing, props and accessories needed for the shoot
  • Prepare detailed shooting schedule and timed shot count ensuring daily shot count is met
  • Ship samples, props and wardrobe to location
  • Digital filing of all signed contracts and documents
  • Complies with all Health & Safety policies and requirements
  • Takes the opportunity to champion specific projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, with strong preference for film production and/or photography
  • Minimum 2 years of professional work experience in photography and/or film or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability in project management of commercial/creative projects in a fast-paced environment
  • In-depth understanding of photography
  • Strong writing skills and experience writing treatments/pitches
  • Process and detail-oriented with creative and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Experience with managing budgets and scheduling
  • Knowledge of management principles and ability to create procedures
  • Proficient in Mac OS, Microsoft Office, web, FTP, digital asset management
  • Excel experience mandatory
  • Basic Adobe Photoshop skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to get things done
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player who is able to act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required
  • Is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change
  • Highly service-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow up skills
  • Passionate about fashion and luxury retailing
