Associate Producer- VFX work – Technicolor – Toronto, ON

Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support and working closely on all tasks in collaboration with the Executive Producer;
  • Reading incoming scripts, creating summaries and breakdowns of the VFX work;
  • Administrative support for VFX bids, pitches, contracts & financial reporting
  • Maintaining current show paperwork and updating VFX shot databases & budgets based on latest information;
  • Attending project and client meetings, taking notes and providing updates and information as necessary;
  • Gathering materials for pitching new work and promoting current projects, working closely with editorial and Mr.X production teams;
  • Coordinating workflow in the early stages of new business / pitching work
  • Researching stock footage, movie reference, and other elements required for visual effects work;
  • Other duties as defined by the Executive Producer in support of sales and production priorities

  • A passion for film – a keen interest in the business of filmmaking and in gaining further experience;
  • Exceptional customer service skills;
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, willingness and ability to learn new skills & technologies;
  • Time-management skills, the ability to prioritize workload combined with a sense of urgency, work well under pressure and meet multiple critical deadlines daily;
  • Must have strong planning and organizational skills; be confident and enthusiastic when communicating in person and/or over the phone; and enjoy working in a fast-paced creative team environment;
  • Must have exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), as well as active listening skills
  • Technical proficiency in Windows operating system

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Industry experience as Producer’s Assistant, coordinator or project manager strongly preferred;
  • Experience with cost reporting, payment schedules, invoicing and/or accounting a plus
  • Excellent computer skills: Windows, MS Word, Microsoft Excel
  • Previous VFX experience or experience with computer graphics and/or editing software is a definite plus
