Division Overview:

CBSi Games is the #1 network of games media sites and includes some of the most popular gaming destinations in the world including GameSpot, GameFAQs, Giant Bomb, and Comic Vine.

GameSpot Universe is GameSpot’s home for everything gamers love besides games – movies, TV, anime, comics and more.

Role Details:

  • GameSpot is seeking a talented shooter/editor to create premium video content for the GameSpot video team, for publication on our website, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.
  • The successful applicant will be expected to ideate, develop, and produce high quality, entertaining, and informative videos on a daily basis.
  • They will be comfortable working to brief on some projects, and leading brief creation on others, taking on board ideas from all levels of the business and forging a plan using their judgement and instinct about what our audiences are interested in. Knowledge of and passion for video games is essential.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Video production – writing, filming, capturing, editing.
  • Playing games to a high standard – capturing and editing great gameplay.
  • Responsible for coming up with ideas, writing scripts, capturing voice over, editing your own and other people’s work.
  • Contribute to Peer Review and cross publisher video discussion, to maintain the highest quality of video across the business.
  • Participate in regular brainstorms with the wider GameSpot team to come up with new ideas and ensure we are always producing the most innovative features possible.

Key Projects:

  • Producing high quality, thoughtful, and entertaining video for GameSpot.
  • You will own coverage of content areas you are especially knowledgeable and passionate about.
  • Play an active role in our bi-weekly Peer Review to ensure we are always driving our standards ever higher.


What you bring to the team:

You have –

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film/Media/Production (or equivalent experience and training)
  • Minimum 1 years experience in a professional video production organization
  • Excellent video production ability (shooting/editing), with a showreel to demonstrate. Premiere shortcuts should be embedded in muscle memory.
  • Great communication and writing skills.
  • A passion for games and a willingness to match that passion with an intelligent, consistent, and fully committed, hands-on approach to the task at hand.

You might also have –

  • YouTube certification
  • Experience with Asana project management software
  • Have attended E3
  • Knowledge of and passion for movies, tv shows, comic books, wrestling and other aspects of gaming culture
