KPTV-KPDX Broadcasting, owned and operated by Meredith Corporation, is recruiting for the position of News Video Editor. The News Editor edits video for newscasts. Edit news, bumpers, teases, and archive tapes on a daily basis. Regular use of Avid News Cutter, Avid Media composer, Final Cut Pro.
Essential Job Functions:
90% Edits video for newscasts. Edit news, bumpers, teases, and archive tapes on a daily basis. Regular use of Avid News Cutter, Avid Media composer, Final Cut Pro.
10% Edit special projects for local programming, marketing, creative services, sales and lifestyle show.
Experience:
2 years news broadcast editing
Education:
Bachelors in communications, broadcast production or equivalent experience
Familiarity with non-linear editing
Must possess an understanding of rules of video editing
Ability to perform quality work under high pressure deadlines
Attention to detail
This position also shoots video as requested.
