Intern Summary: The Philadelphia Film Festival (PFF) is an 11 day international film festival that screens over 100 films and hosts special events, Q&As, and industry guests.

The Operations & Production Intern reports to the Director of Venues and the Venue Operations Assistant and is tasked with aiding in the coordination of venue logistics and needs in the lead-up to and during the festival. During the festival, the Operations & Production Intern will also be assigned to work in PFF Venues to support the management there. A successful intern in this position will gain hands on experience in the organization and execution of a large festival, learning new skills in event planning, film exhibition, and hospitality.



  • Assist with inventory of all existing PFF Venue supplies and equipment
  • Support the Venue Operations Assistant in researching and ordering additional supplies and materials
  • Assist with creation and production of PFF Volunteer Training materials as needed
  • Attend and help conduct volunteer training sessions
  • Coordinate the production, assembly, and distribution of essential operations documents
  • Organize all venue supplies and materials and assist with distribution to all PFF theaters


  • Assist with timely distribution of festival materials, including venue supplies, daily paperwork, and program guides
  • Conduct daily inventory of critical venue supplies and coordinate resupply as needed
  • Supporting festival Venue Managers in managing volunteers, seating shows, and coordinating with Box Office, Projection, and other Venues as needed
  • Attending Festival meetings and remaining updated on Festival changes


  • Breaking down all PFF venues materials (signage, supplies, equipment) at venues
  • Conduct final inventory and storage of all PFF venues materials
  • Attend Festival wrap meeting and submit written wrap report with feedback on experience

Job Requirements

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-taskand troubleshoot independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in theaters and/or customer service a plus

Time Requirements

  • August-December, 2019
  • Full or significantly open availability October 17-27, 2019
  • August-Mid-October: 2-3 days per week in office, 11am-5pm

Compensation: Unpaid, College Credit Available
