Media Production Intern – Full time (Post Graduate) – Pittsburgh Steelers – Pittsburgh, PA

The Media Production Intern will be responsible for assisting in the creation of various types of media production for Steelers platforms, including but not limited to television, digital and social. The position will assist the Steelers’ video production team in editing, motion graphics creation, and videography as well as designing, maintaining, and supporting live sets, virtual sets, press conferences, and other venues as required. The position must be able to act independently while fulfilling these responsibilities. The position requires knowledge of video production, motion graphics design, and still graphic design. Coverage of high school football during the high school season is required. Some local travel is required.


  • Assist and execute all aspects of video production including, creative concept and development, writing, directing, lighting, shooting, and video editing
  • Design, compose, and/or create various and professional shooting environments, both studio-based and in the field
  • Utilize both video editing and motion graphics techniques to support daily production
  • Lead the Steelers high school football coverage throughout the fall season
  • Understand and act upon an extensive knowledge of video formats, codecs, and transcoding/dubbing/DVD mastering procedures, both digital and physical
  • Work as a member of a broadcast department which includes editors, videographers and graphic designers to meet stated company-wide goals
  • Manage and maintain metadata and digital assets in a mass media management environment
  • Create and deliver assets pertinent to the Pittsburgh Steelers to multiple platforms on-time and on-budget


  • Highly creative thinking and experience with taking creative ideas and translating them to visual presentations and pieces
  • Knowledge of high definition video equipment, including menu-driven, professional HD cameras (Sony FS7, Canon C700)
  • Control Room experience and knowledge of studio lighting and audio methods
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite (or CC) applications (Premiere, Photoshop, and AfterEffects minimum requirements)
  • Extensive knowledge of video formats, codecs, and their appropriate applications
  • Great attention to detail, and the ability and flexibility to work under tight deadlines
  • Experience in comfortably interacting with professional athletes and celebrities
  • Must be able to take initiative, multi-task, and independently complete tasks and projects
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with internal clients regarding video projects
  • Must maintain a positive, professional attitude at all times and be receptive to input and constructive criticism
