Remote Medical International

Remote Medical International is seeking qualified and dependable Covid-19 Medical Screeners to support a film/TV production studio in the Conshohocken area. This is a full-time, temporary role expected to last through November. As a Covid-19 Medical Screener, you will perform daily temperature checks and questionnaires for our client’s cast a crew. Must exhibit an exceptional level of professionalism.

The COVID-19 Medical Screener is a medical role specifically operating within the protocols established for screening humans for possible infection utilizing individual questionnaires, a brief exam consisting of a tympanic, infrared (IR) and/or oral temperature, and may include the administration of an objective test including the acquisition of samples including saliva samples.

This position may include the initiation of medical care dependent upon the responses and/or results to any of the tests, questionnaires, or other information obtained during the screening process.

Strict protocols for administering objective tests, including interpretation of on-site results (if applicable) must be followed including mandatory reporting requirements as listed within the testing protocols. Additionally, strict Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements will be adhered to by the company, and is expected of the provider fulfilling this position.

Duties and Responsibilities may include the folllowing:

  • Administering medical questionnaires directly to Client Staff;
    • Personnel entering job sites
    • Personnel departing job sites
    • Personnel embarking or disembarking from vessels
  • Administering and interpreting the temperature of an individual utilizing tympanic, infrared (IR) and/or oral thermometers according to manufacturer’s instructions and CDC guidance for personal protection.
  • Reporting cases of positive and negative responses according to established protocols while remaining cognizant of appropriate reporting requirements (State, Local and Federal) requirements (established per site).
  • Communicate findings directly to the Topside physicians as required and listed within each site plan as per protocol
  • Don and Doff PPE as required within the protocol for performing medical testing and screening
  • Document findings and results of the Medical Testing and Screening with the RMI documentation system if required and as stated within the protocol (depending upon the need/requirement for objective testing).
  • Acquire samples of potentially infectious bodily secretions from individuals after obtaining consent for testing via saliva samples
  • Adhere to strict PPE requirements for medical providers performing live testing on potentially infectious bodily secretions.
  • If testing and analysis is to be performed on site, while following strict protocols and instructions established by the test manufacturer and RMI, analyze the samples acquired for testing purposes.
  • Interpret according to clear and established protocols test results if performed on-site and document accordingly within the RMI documentation system

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
  • EMT-B (State or Nationally Registered), or
  • Paramedic, Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Assistant (MA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (NA) from recognized entity, and
  • BLS-CPR (American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Equivalent)

COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • General computer literacy and proficiency required

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to speak/write clearly and directly while effectively communicating with global service providers, clients and clinical providers via phone and email.
  • Ability to intake multiple pieces of information from multiple sources, prioritize and summarize in a clear, concise and accurate manner to all appropriate stakeholders.
  • Prioritize and coordinate multiple events simultaneously.
  • Ability to balance result with other business considerations.
  • Ethical understanding of patient processes, confidentiality and personal health information (PHI) data management.
  • Remain compliant with company HIPAA annual training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires working outdoors and indoors, and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for long periods of time.

This position consists of shift work. Typical shifts are 12 hours per day, a mixture of day shifts, and night shifts as required by the client site.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
