Position Summary

This person will assist with the creation and development of digital, graphic, and multimedia content and applications for use in the College’s instructional, marketing and promotional media.

Abilities and Skills

  • Practical knowledge of digital and multimedia content development to include streaming media applications and techniques. (Minimum)
  • Technical competence with industry standard software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Media Encoder. (Minimum)
  • Ability to follow oral and written direction. (Minimum)
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, faculty, staff and the public. (Minimum)
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues. (Minimum)
  • Ability to deal with a variety of assignments simultaneously. (Minimum)
  • Aptitude to learn to use related media production equipment and software packages. (Minimum)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. (Minimum)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks. (Minimum)
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license. (Desired)
  • Familiarity with Penn College. (Desired)
  • Ability to train others in the operation of computer-based authoring and design programs. (Desired)

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. (Minimum)
  • Course work in digital or multimedia, film, or graphic arts. (Minimum)

Experience

  • Experience with digital media production and post-production. (Desired)

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in production and distribution of multimedia content and instructional projects. (Essential)
  • Assist the Instructional Development Specialist with the revision and update of the digital content, navigation and functionality. (Essential)
  • Assist the Instructional Development Specialist with maintenance and enhancement of the Graphic Design elements used in new and ongoing PCT course sites, DVDs, OIT web pages, and other forms of digital media. (Essential)
  • Assist with the maintenance of the College’s streaming media content, applications and server. (Essential)
  • Assist in development of graphic and visual presentations for instructional, marketing and promotional purposes. (Essential)
  • Assist in the preparation and creation of accessibility components for instructional media (Essential)
  • Participate in staff meetings, daily office and institutional activities as appropriate. (Marginal)
  • Assist faculty and staff with OIT-managed software and resources. (Marginal)
