Job Description

Senior Producer, PEOPLE TV YouTube

The Senior Producer, PeopleTV YouTube, working in coordination with the People video and editorial teams, will lead branding, strategy and programming, from development through production, for the PeopleTV YouTube channel. You will also manage one YouTube team producer dedicated to PeopleTV YouTube. You will be responsible for defining the new voice of this YouTube channel and creating a brand and programming strategy geared toward meeting company-provided output and view goals. You are development-minded and excited to get in front of a room (or Zoom call) and present your ideas and you relish the ability to get other people excited about coming along for the ride. You will be running your own video business and production company within the YouTube team. You will collaborate with the team Coordinating Producer and Line Producer to plan programming and budgets and produce video series from concept to post, both in-house and via freelancers.

You are an expert in YouTube best practices and analytics, and you are excited to help teach that to other Meredith video personnel outside the YouTube team. You genuinely enjoy consuming YouTube content and have a strong awareness of YouTube talent both up-and-coming and A-list. You also have a genuine interest in pushing the boundaries of storytelling on YouTube as it relates to celebrity, pop culture, entertainment and film news, and reality TV. You have your finger on the pulse of the internet and are well versed in historical and current trends. You have a lot of ideas for up-and-coming talent, you want to get in front of the camera, and you have experience engaging with talent to bring these opportunities to life. You understand how to construct and produce longer form YouTube formats and direct celebrity talent in tight time frames.

As a Senior Producer you are an organized, proactive, diplomatic and patient team player who enjoys sharing ideas, teaching and learning. You’re a self-starter who is excited to take your career to the next level and grow as a producer, manager and leader. You are also entrepreneurial and possess excellent communication skills and experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced creative team environment. You are accountable and solutions oriented. You’re excited to come to work and you believe it can mostly be fun because you appreciate how lucky you are to tell stories for a living.

Reporting to the Executive Producer, YouTube, you will drive and lead entire project life cycles from concept, pitch, budget, and pre-production through production, post, and launch. You have an understanding of video and audio field equipment and on set you know how to manage talent teams and make a production crew feel respected and appreciated. You strive for high production value but take pride in your ability to achieve that goal cost effectively and within budget. You enjoy collaboration with production crews and have the ability to share and convey your ideas to crews in timely fashion during shoots.
