Position Summary:

This position will focus on capturing and producing content for social and digital channels on behalf of the G League. The incumbent will be responsible for developing content ideas at the direction of the Head of Content. He/she will also be responsible for idea execution, including managing the content production process. He/she will be on-site with the G League Pro Path Team directly capturing and curating content for G League channels. This person will work closely with NBAE and the programming arm of NBA Global Content Media Distribution (GCMD). The incumbent will also be responsible for engaging with third party content partners (e.g. media agencies, producers, production companies, etc.) as well as marketing partners.


Major Responsibility:

  • Work closely with the Head of Content to develop the NBA G League’s content strategy
  • Develop concepts and provide hands-on production of stories that attract youth audiences and maintain high levels of fan engagement
  • Manage day-to-day interaction with the G Pro Path team and staff to ensure access, availability and player participation in content creation and/or production needs
  • Facilitate and coordinate access and activities of content partners and serve as the League’s on-site voice and content liaison to ensure content alignment with G League goals
  • Facilitate approvals and provide status updates to Head of Content
  • Identify areas of opportunity to grow the audience/community, reach and relevance of the League via social and digital channels
  • Understand the G League’s assets, offerings, services and internal processes in order to advance initiatives with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide content, recommendations, and guidance on G League social media accounts
  • Facilitate, manage and improve online content delivery tools/systems and processes
  • Stay up to date with digital technology developments and digital production best-practices
  • Be proactive and resourceful; solve any issues that might arise with tact and diplomacy


Required Skills/Knowledge
:

  • A minimum of 4 years of content creation and production experience
  • Experience building social or digital communities/audiences
  • Demonstrable expertise in designing and implementing successful social or digital marketing campaigns that deliver audience growth
  • Proven track record in managing multiple projects, setting priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of content production process
  • Understanding of digital landscape including key players and trends, must be an active user of consumer digital technologies such as social media, mobile web/apps, game consoles, streaming services and devices, etc.
  • Strong understanding of current digital marketing channels and how they function
  • Understanding of media rights landscape, a plus
  • Solid knowledge of online marketing tools and best practices
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills
  • Strong team management and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a global, matrix organization
  • Travel with G Pro Path team will be required


Education:

Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in marketing, digital technologies or relevant field
