Production Assistant:

The Production department Production Assistant (PA) plays a key role on the Production Team. The role requires sustained energy, time management, and multitasking. Over the course of consecutive days for two and a half weeks, the PA’s responsibilities cover simultaneous screenings and special events within the festival. The PA will work closely with the Production Coordinator to provide production support to all NYFF teams.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the Production Coordinator with delivery and inventory tracking of all partnership, special events, and marketing items;

  • Support in the tracking of the delivery and venue dispatching timelines;

  • Supporting the Production Coordinator with storage management;

  • Supporting and assisting with any red carpet/production builds and front of house show flows at various festival venues;

  • Assist the Production Coordinator in all load in, load out and production setup of all festival venues;

  • Check-in/ check-out and briefing of Production volunteers;

  • Maintain walkie sign in and sign out;

  • Prepare venue packets and festival reference materials for onsite use;

  • Represent the Production team at meetings where required;

  • May be asked to assist with merchandise inventory and movement between and within festival venues;

  • Support the general mission of the Operations and Production teams;

  • Comply with FSLC internal policies/procedures and adhere to NYFF, FSLC, and LCPA venue policies and restrictions;

  • Complete mandatory post-festival exit interview and wrap questionnaires.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Prior film festival experience in a production-related role;

  • Requires committing to 25 working days to be set forward by the reporting manager;

  • Must be able to work outside normal working hours, including weekends;

  • Must possess an up to date knowledge of G Suite (Google Documents, Sheets, etc.);

  • Position involves some heavy lifting of consumables and equipment and operation of convertible hand truck;

  • may occasionally require work outdoors;

  • Exceptional customer service skills;

  • Strong, effective communicator (written and interpersonal);

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older;

  • Must be able to maintain confidential information.
