Position Overview

Since its founding fifty years ago, Film at Lincoln Center has brought the celebration of American and international film to the world-renowned arts complex Lincoln Center, making the discussion and appreciation of cinema accessible to a broad audience, and ensuring that it remains an essential art form for years to come.

Film at Lincoln Center is now looking to hire a temporary (Sept. 18th to October 8th) NYFF Talks Coordinator for the period before and during its flagship event, the New York Film Festival, to plan, produce and execute all aspects of a robust series of public talks involving filmmakers, actors, writers, critics, cinephiles and film cognoscenti.

Reporting to the Deputy Director, this individual should be a fearless, focused executor of plans and details. The ideal candidate has experience engaging with stakeholders at all levels, and being the “go-to” person for all matters large and small.

Principal Duties

Responsible for coordinating all details with talk participants and their representatives in advance of each evening’s talks.

Primary liaison with talent representatives, moderators, talk participants to assure seamless execution of the nightly program. Liase with venue staff regarding logistical needs and technical or other special requirements.

Primary point person for nightly media needs; sourcing, sorting, detailing media to be used, and relaying all files, schedules and other needs to the appropriate venue personnel.

Collaborate with all internal FLC staff and departments, primarily regarding scheduling, travel or hospitality needs, talking points, etc.

Be the daily on-site point person before, during and after each evening’s talks to Welcome guests, and work with venue and festival staff to execute events at a high standard of excellence.

Other duties as may be assigned.

Experience/Skills Required

A high level of energy, organization, and focus; film experience is preferred but not required.

B.A. required.

Resourceful with demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.

Familiarity with Microsoft and Google product suites, and general office software and database software.

Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends.

A passion for film, and for Film at Lincoln Center’s mission and its future.
