Nonviolence International – New York (NVI-NY) seeks to reduce the use of violence by identifying its root causes, developing policy recommendations to combat the misuse of weapons and human right violations, promoting the rule of law and advocating for the inclusiveness of all stakeholders in effecting change.

Nonviolence has proven to be one of the most effective tools to deal with violence, oppression, and discrimination. Nonviolence is based on the conviction that the use of violence (even in the face of violence) is counterproductive to achieve an outcome. Rather, nonviolence is understood as an essential means to achieve political and social change through the empowerment of individuals and civil society, cooperating with each other to ensure peace, justice, and prosperity for all. A nonviolent approach towards social change involves using open and transparent communication, community building and governance to maximize the cooperation between all sectors of society resulting in inclusive and effective solutions.

Graphic Designer

Is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and executing creative solutions across all brand touchpoints; collaborating in teams, including marketing, account, copy, and video. We work in traditional and digital mediums and expect strong creative skills in both. However, multichannel marketing and brand materials will be your primary areas of focus. You’ll also flex your organizational muscles, balancing multiple projects and working with colleagues and vendors in different time zones. We work hard, we work fast, and we do great work.

  • Assist in all aspects of video and photographic communications and contribute to planning and storyboarding
  • Assist in the end-to-end process from storyboarding to logistics to shooting to editing and publishing
  • Film video and shoot photographs in studio and field environments
  • Record desktop computer screens and actions for demo and training videos
  • Use existing original and stock footage to produce new videos
  • Contribute to mixing and editing to create polished and engaging videos
  • Publish videos primarily to the web and touch-up still photography

Video Journalist

Need to be able to take current events and write about it in a way the audience can relate. They will be writing blogs, writing scripts and then shooting those scripts for youtube and other videos. Then filming those videos on a biweekly schedule.

We are looking for storytellers, people who can find the elements of a topic, cause, or current event and express it in a captivating way. We are looking for go-getters who can lead a team or run production based on their writing and direct other volunteers in expressing the stories they just created across multiple mediums. (from blogging sites to youtube)


We are looking for experienced creators and editors of both visual and audio mediums to lend their talents to help manage our growing media productions. Each applicant should be able to express ideas in a team setting to produce accurate and creative videos. Additionally, they should be able to take charge of editing both visuals and audio of videos and have proficiency with the software required to edit as well as manage a youtube channel.


  • Have the potential to deliver videos and photos that succinctly and clearly tell the desired story
  • Ability to deliver videos with cuts, graphics, sound and other elements that convey a quality production value and a level of technical sophistication
  • Experience with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, imovie, Adobe Captivate and Adobe Photoshop
  • Knowledge of digital videography and photography cameras and equipment
  • Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Web (Dreamweaver)
  • HTML/CSS languages
