Sesame Workshop

Sesame Workshop is looking for a Freelance Production Writing Coordinator, Humanitarian Programs. The Production Writing Coordinator will assist the creative teams of Humanitarian Programs within the International Social Impact department.

The position involves:

  • Supporting internal and international production and education teams
  • Communicating with various departments within the company through pre-production script development and writing as well as post-production and scripts delivery stages
  • Administrative functions, including arranging meetings, assets’ tagging and expense reports

Responsibilities could include (but are not limited to):
Creative Production Support

  • Engage in all aspects of the production and scripting process, with the Producer’s oversight and supervision
  • Coordinate script distribution and reviews with internal and international teams
  • Compile script review comments/notes and collaborate with scriptwriting teams
  • Write team comments/notes and meeting minutes
  • Review and write show evaluations
  • Review final scripts’ delivery
  • Create presentations, overview documents and graphs for meetings
  • Assist with special projects as needed, including editing clips and training reels


Provide overall Administrative and Production Support to producers, such as:

  • Assist with daily operations and logistics
  • Review, tag, & log deliverables
  • Document information to calculate residuals
  • Arrange meetings, book production and catering services, as needed
  • Manage travel accommodations and process expense reports for producers

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Television/Film/Media Production, Communications, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 2 years’ experience with TV/Digital/Film/Media script writing and production
  • Strong interest in children’s media and education
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Basic pre-production, production, post-production, and social media experience
  • Moderate knowledge of production and editing software
  • Capacity to work across multiple projects and with various teams
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and across various time zones
  • Must thrive in a collaborative environment
  • Foreign language skills, Arabic a plus

Department Overview: International Social Impact is a division of the Social Impact and Philanthropy department that is responsible for growing Sesame Workshop’s global presence and initiating, implementing and strategically sustaining local brand adaptations to drive reach and impact. The team collaborates with a variety of international partners, stakeholders, and service providers to deliver educationally targeted, high-quality content through coalitions of local and global media, education, government, corporate, donor and civil society partners. International Impact must strategically connect and synchronize Sesame’s global networks at the regional and country-level and align content development with global development goals and global themes.
