Job Summary:

The Director of Video and Technology Operations will oversee NFL video operations for all officiating staff and on-field officials. S/he will direct and manage other support personnel assigned to work in this area.

General Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing relevant and timely training videos and other resources to enhance evaluation and improve performance
  • Manage all video assets to support officiating on game days and weekends; capturing and editing film with various software
  • Upload game/practice film onto database to be viewed on work stations and in meeting rooms
  • Live capture all games in command center, either through direct on-site control or via remote access control
  • Make cut-ups as directed (for coaches/ coordinators, trainers, officials, others)
  • Set-up video equipment (projectors, monitors) for meeting rooms, duplicating and digitizing clinic materials for presentations
  • Duplicate, digitize, label, distribute and prepare all video for weekly cutups and training tapes
  • Oversee all video requirements for AMGC, game sites relative to officiating, clinics and committee meetings.
  • Coordinate all activities required to utilize website and online video services, including uploading and downloading of shared video
  • Assist with development of officiating website
  • Assist with coordination of media or other live streaming events and broadcasts
  • Manage videotape library of regular season games, practices, spring games, OTAs, recruits, and special projects
  • Assist in the production of special post-production projects
  • Advise and assist Head of Officiating Department with writing, producing and editing videotape
  • Manage and provide support for NFL Football Operations department relative to officiating video needs
  • Provide recommendations/guidance on football-specific training and computing tools
  • Train employees and support staff, including officials, as needed in use and care of video and computer equipment, including necessary skills to utilize video and other technology
  • Serve as a liaison with team video directors, college conference video coordinators, media equipment companies and other vendors on common issues and to keep current on video, computer and other technology, as well as properly maintaining equipment and coordinating the approved acquisition of new equipment
  • Advise the NFL on areas of technology and computer services, particularly in areas that can enhance and improve officiating performance
  • Manage and oversee video assistants and interns
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 6 – 8 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong administrative understanding, and operational knowledge of officiating and football operations
  • Strong (football) business acumen
  • Knowledge of NFL Vision, XOS, DVSport, Adobe Suite, and post-production editing skills are mandatory
  • Computer proficient: Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
