Award winning, media company and content creation studio is seeking a VP, Global Payroll

The role:

  • Oversee the day to day functions of Workday and Cast & Crew payroll processes. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, payroll funding, tax filing on a pay period and on-going basis
  • Retro pay calculations, pay calculations, as well as closing each of those calcs
  • Responsible for balancing, settling and closing the payrolls
  • Manage the payroll analyst(s) who are processing the individual payrolls
  • Assist the Payroll Accountant with the monthly payroll bank reconciliation
    answering questions and researching anomalies

Duties & Responsibilities: (NOT to be confused with requirements ;)

  • Working knowledge of the Workday Payroll module as well as the Time Tracking and Absence Management modules
  • Routinely advise the Chief Accounting Officer and Chief Financial Officer of global
    payroll best practices
  • Work heavily with HRIS to establish best practices and data integrity from a
    payroll perspective
  • Assist in troubleshooting system configuration issues, along with documentation
    and further resolution, either in-house or with outside consultants
  • Assist in regression testing of bi-annual Workday Releases
  • Maintain payroll processing documentation and any other reference material
    used by the payroll department or it’s business partners
  • CPP or FPC certification preferred
  • A thorough understanding of payroll entries, and how they affect the ledger
    accounts
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR/Payroll systems, Time and Attendance
    systems and reporting tools

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years experience with Workday required
  • Experience managing a team of two or more
  • 10+ years processing high volume, multi-state payroll
  • Excel experience should include creating and manipulating pivot tables and vlookups at
    a minimum
