This is an agency position embedded within the Communications Department of the Louisiana Office of Tourism. The Communications Coordinator will report to the Director of Communications and assist in the creation of content for web and social media, press releases and media pitches. Exceptional writing and editing skills are necessary, in addition to verbal and interpersonal communication skills. The ideal candidate is able to work independently and efficiently while maintaining strong attention to detail. This position will be expected to yield the best possible product for the State.


  • Assist in the development of content for media pitching and FAM tours
  • Assist in management of government and consumer website content with digital agency
  • Oversee social media and content planning
  • Traffic all media efforts to appropriate channels
  • Create print, online and broadcast media lists for pitching and events
