Director, Events and Production

As the Director, Brand and Industry Event Production and Marketing for Realogy Expansion Brands, you will be joining an exceptional events team that produces a mix of brand and industry events, for Realogy’s portfolio of growth brands including Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate and ERA Real Estate. You will be a part of a dynamic, innovative group of marketing and communications professionals driving brand awareness by flawless executing virtual and in-person events with a heavy focus on real estate trends, thought leadership, broker and agent insights, and expansion efforts into growth markets.

You will lead a team of professionals, both internally and through the management of agency and vendor support. Through a collaborative and professional approach, you will have a unique and challenging opportunity to grow our brand voice across the real estate industry and educate our network of affiliated brokers and agents by leading the end-to-end event strategy and full execution of the brand and industry events of BHGRE and ERA.

What you will do:

  • Drive the development of each event’s experience, budget, production, content strategy, on-site/virtual branding, and processes.
  • Collaborate with operations and brand marketing on the brand narrative, presentations, visual identity and content strategy.
  • Lead and develop a team of professionals and agencies to execute against goals and objectives. This includes development of the messaging, goals, and content arc in partnership with brand leadership, operations and marketing, as well as researching, sourcing and preparing both internal and external speakers.
  • Create look and feel/theme for each onsite or virtual event that aligns with brand guidelines; includes event branding, marketing materials, signage and materials.
  • Drive all industry and network event strategies to ensure maximization of the opportunities, including:
  • Management of all budgets and contracts.
  • End-to-end brand and attendee event experience, including sponsors, content development, registration, and speakers.
  • Brand presence, including marketing, signage and materials.
  • Lead on-site contractors, vendors, suppliers, speakers, entertainers, etc. for best quality, consistency and execution of brand image.
  • Create strategy for internal staff responsibilities before and during the events.
  • Identify executive speaking opportunities for industry events.
  • Develop event-related marketing, advertising and content strategies for websites, emails, newsletters, social media posts, etc., to promote events to network in partnership with internal communications team for execution through internal communications.
  • Identify and manage all production and AV needs, suggest thoughtful event enhancements (such as script writers, lighting designers, video editors, etc.).
  • Manage creation of video and all other on-screen media, including content collection, organization and execution.
  • Create and own all necessary production documents (project tracker, ROS, cue sheets, backstage flow & directions, scripting, etc.).
  • Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to plan and execute virtual event series for leadership and brands. This includes:
  • Creation, management and communication of event calendar.
  • Identify, confirm and preparation of speakers.
  • Partner with marketing team to create branded slides and materials as requested.
  • Prepare briefing documents for leadership and speakers.
  • Management of virtual platform before and during session.
  • Share recordings with communications teams and network.
  • Assist events manager in their ownership of registration processes, housing blocks and vendor management before, during and after each event.
  • Support events manager in his/her ownership of department’s administrative tasks such as creating and maintaining event calendar creating and communicating project plans, scheduling and attending prep calls, ensuring proper handling of prep calls and scribe notes, supplies needs, promotional items and collateral needed for events.
  • In collaboration with events manager ensure the following occurs:
  • Maximize sponsor communications strategy and outreach efforts.
  • Ensure both brands’ sponsorships of industry events are fulfilled and maximized for highest value per cost.
  • Set strategy for efficient creation and ordering of assets, promotional items and collateral needed for events.
  • Create and maintain enthusiastic, cooperative, professional and teamwork-structured environment.
  • Establish oneself as a subject matter expert with respect to Industry marketing and event logistics.

You Possess:

  • A proven track record for innovation in developing and executing one-of-a-kind events, both virtual and in person.
  • The ability to think outside the box / creatively to integrate problem-solving and structured thinking.
  • Great communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with multiple constituents, including peers, executive management, event attendees, brand sponsors, and vendors. You also need to possess equally strong writing skills to convey information accurately with confidence, respect, and clarity.
  • A passion for planning. The right candidate infuses qualities like passion and enthusiasm in their everyday work.
  • Skills in managing and prioritizing shifting responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem solving aptitude. You are able to quickly make a decision during unforeseen challenges – all while staying calm.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred; major in marketing or event production strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in event production -either on the agency or client side. Event Marketing experience is a plus.
  • Interactive marketing a plus, particularly social media.
  • Superior skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to travel as needed.
