The Multimedia Instructional Content Developer is responsible for designing content for the Career Center’s online presence, web applications and mobile platforms using immersive multimedia, computer-simulated reality, visual, audio, video and digital formats. The incumbent determines the best approach to solve creative challenges in the visual delivery of complex concepts and information in an e-learning environment, in consultation with career counselors and staff; develops online interactive instructional learning experiences, applications, teaching aids, streaming and podcast videos, tool kits, and study guides for all learning styles; use emerging technologies in creative ways to deliver educational content; establishes and maintains relationships with Career Center constituents and identifies collaborative opportunities; acts as the liaison with SAIT and Central IT to communicate department technical needs and resolve issues; participates in assessment processes and use data to shape system modifications; responsible for all phases of the multimedia production process: planning, creative briefs, storyboarding, visual assets, editing, production, testing, and publishing; proofs all assets for ADA and 508 accessibility; integrates informational content with components of a relational database; maintains the departments’ webpage, applications, and other digital assets; oversees the work of a multimedia team of student assistant interns: script writers, animators, 3-D modelers, videographers, graphic designers, user-interface designers, AI-AR-VR programmers, and web and application developers, etc.; may film or photograph live or staged events; conceptualizes and implements content strategies for social media platforms boosting brand awareness, career related inspirational messaging, and instructional content; oversees the work of social media student assistants; designs, produces, organizes and maintains website marketing and promotional assets; may produce printed educational and marketing materials; and performs other duties as assigned. The incumbent is expected to utilize the following technologies: PhotoShop, Illustrator, After Effects, Adobe Master Suite 5.5/Premiere, Captivate, Cinema 4D, Final Cut, Maya, Moodle, and HTML5.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Art, Animation, Instructional Design, or similar degree and 12 months experience in multimedia production.
Special requirements: Must have demonstrated proficient knowledge of instructional design and the following design technologies: PhotoShop, Illustrator, After Effects, Adobe Master Suite 5.5/Premiere, Captivate, Cinema 4D, Final Cut, Maya, Moodle, and HTML 5. Employer will accept special requirements gained through employment experience and/or academic coursework.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Broad knowledge of resources and techniques which communicate information through multimedia production. Thorough knowledge of production techniques and equipment; and video compression and file formats. General knowledge of production principles and practices for instructional media. Working knowledge of tools for authoring interactive multimedia products delivered via a variety of synchronous and asynchronous techniques. Ability and specialized skills to: develop, create, stage, and/or produce professional quality visuals and evaluate production effectiveness in meeting objectives; demonstrate strong writing skills including the ability to learn narration and continually script writing; exhibit strong research skills; understand operating procedures and underlying technology in order to troubleshoot equipment and systems; independently manage and coordinate all facets production, budgets, and other projects; demonstrate effective photographic capabilities, as well as photographic processing and manipulation skills; provide lead work and project direction to other staff; work with and train students involved in production projects as needed; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; write appealing text, stories, or scripts that encapsulate essential points; present complex content visually using multimedia production tools; work on a multidisciplinary team; and ability to apply a broad range of multimedia software and online learning products such as Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere, Adobe Captivate, HTML 5, Moodle, Cinema 4-D, and Maya. Detail oriented.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

The salary range for this classification is: $3515 – $6358 per month. This position is subject to the California State University Employee’s Union.
The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $4405 – $6358 per month, dependent upon meeting the minimum qualifications and experience.
HOURS: Full-Time; 40 hours per week; 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
