The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-To-Consumer and International (DTCI) is a new, global business segment for The Walt Disney Company with the mission of providing consumers around the world access to the content they want most, on the latest platforms, at a time of rapidly-evolving consumer habits. Combining the Company’s direct-to-consumer streaming services – ESPN+, the Disney SVOD service and its ownership stake in Hulu – alongside Disney’s international media businesses, DTCI aligns cutting-edge technology with world-class content and beloved brands to expand the Company’s global footprint and deliver highly-personalized entertainment experiences to diverse consumers around the world.
Intern Eligibility:

  • All candidates must be eligible to work in the US.
  • All candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  • At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
  • All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.

Program Dates:

  • All candidates must be available from May/June – August/September
  • All candidates must be willing to work 40 hours/week
  • Working towards or recently completed an undergraduate degree

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions and change course of action quickly.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work well and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Ability to work with confidential information.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to be proactive, resourceful and flexible.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain strong working relationships and ability to interface with varied levels of management.

A day in the life…

  • Maintaining tracking grids of project updates across international features, scripted and non-scripted TV series through constant communication with key Disney stakeholders
  • Supporting departmental projects as needed including preparing PowerPoint presentations, internal grids and additional research assignments
  • Reviewing incoming proposals, treatments, video submissions, and providing thoughtful feedback and evaluation for the team to consider
  • Helping to identify new creative opportunities (new talent, stories, books, short films, articles, etc) for the department to pursue
  • Tracking the competitive landscape across television and film, responsible for updating writer/director lists and checking availability through agencies and managers
  • Representing the department in a professional manner
  • Liaising with other Disney executives, producers, writers, and other assistants internally and externally
