The New York Film Academy was founded in 1992 on the belief that a top-quality education in filmmaking should be accessible to anyone with the drive and ambition to make films. The school opened at Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Film Center in New York City, and has expanded worldwide to include campuses in New York; Los Angeles; Miami; Sydney, and Gold Coast, Australia.

The mission of the New York Film Academy is to educate students interested in the field of visual storytelling. NYFA courses have been designed to increase students’ creativity and technical expertise through an intense regimen of hands-on and classroom instruction. The Academy’s goal is to enrich its students as visual storytellers by helping them realize their personal artistic visions. NYFA’s expectations center on the growth of each student as a creative individual.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The job of the Events Coordinator is for the purpose of supporting the Events department in the organization and execution of screenings and Q&As with industry professionals, degree and certificate program final screenings and graduations, as well as other school functions including special lectures, student and staff parties, etc.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The day-to-day duties required of this position may vary.

  • Help organize the logistics and plan production needs for events
  • Answering phones and emails for the purpose of assisting the Production Manager
  • Assist with receiving and recording event requests
  • Administrative work such as copying, filing, mail and data entry
  • Assist in inventory planning and storage
  • Coordinating with other events team members before and during events
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Public Speaking
  • Organized and highly attentive to detail
  • Independent, self starter
  • Multi-tasking

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years Coordinator or customer service experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

REPRESENTATIVE MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND/OR SOFTWARE USED:

  • Google Drive, Excel, Word, FileMaker Pro, Photoshop
  • Occasional overtime and frequent evening/weekend hours
  • Occasional standing for long periods of time, or carrying 25-30 pounds

ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC WORKING CONDITIONS:

The following environmental / Atmospheric working conditions are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position. The actual working conditions will vary.
