Videographer/Video Editor (Permanent, Full-Time)

If you are a forward-thinking creative, we are interested in hearing from you! We are looking for a talented Videographer/Video Editor with experience in social media to join our Hertfordshire team. You must be able to communicate your ideas effectively within a team and produce bespoke high-quality videos. Candidates must be able to demonstrate previous work that proves their skill set.

Position Overview

Paradise Wildlife Park are seeking a video producer who can research, produce and edit their own short-form videos for its social platforms and YouTube channel. An integral element of the role is to work closely and supportively with the Head of Marketing and Social Media Coordinator, as well staff in all other areas, ensuring the successful running of the park at all times.

You should be pro-active, organised and able to work in a professional and friendly way. With a number of varying projects on the go at any one time, the ideal candidate will be required to work across multiple projects and work to tight deadlines. You will be involved in Paradise Wildlife Park’s creative development and therefore keeping up to date with current design trends will be an essential part of the job. With strong planning and communication skills, you will be expected to work independently as well as in a close team setting, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and complete priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Writing script, headlines and articles for videos
  • Editing to an exceptional standard (using Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut X)
  • Working across commercial, original, social and marketing projects
  • Spearheading the ambitious growth in audience retention, watch time and engagement
  • Editing workflow management and maintenance
  • Colour correction and grading of images and videos, conforming to broadcast and social standards and guidelines
  • Have an excellent understanding of social media platforms
  • Being an expert on any changes to trends in video publishing and social media and ensuring we are ahead of the curve when it comes to content published on those channels
  • Ensuring all content is produced within brand guidelines and in-keeping with the tone of relevant Paradise Wildlife Park channels
  • Confident use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Other duties deemed necessary to support effective and efficient working on site, as required

Job Requirements (Essential)

  • High proficiency in Adobe Premiere or Final Cut X
  • Strong background in video journalism
  • Ability to identify and create compelling original and viral stories.
  • Experienced video editor capable of quick turn-arounds, with multiple projects on your plate at any given moment
  • Effective communicator and team player who will collaborate with the team to create compelling work
  • Clear understanding of Facebook insights and other analytics tools.
  • Must be able to work well as part of a team
  • Sharp writer who can write punchy intros for on-screen text
  • Laser-focused, organised, and exemplifies meticulous attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of DSLR and broadcast standard camera equipment, including Canon, Sony and Go Pros
  • Proficiency in using social media channels
  • Must be willing to drive and have a full license and access to own vehicle.

Working Conditions

  • The position is offered on a full-time basis, 5 over 7 days per week (08.00-18.00 Summer, 08.00-17.00 Winter)
  • Occasional early and late working will be required to accommodate deadlines or special events
  • We give statutory holiday entitlement
  • Starting Salary £20,000 PA (to be reviewed after 6 months)
