We are a small, tight-knit video production team based at Pinewood Studios seeking someone with film production experience who can fill the role of primarily a video editor but with some additional camera operator responsibilities.
We work on a wide range of projects, from online courses, product films, corporate and EPK to BTS, documentary and fiction work. The type of work we produce does vary and that is why we require team members who have a wide skill set and can be flexible with the work required. As this role involves camera operating on our shoots, working hours and days can vary depending on the shoot, so flexibility with this will be a requirement.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys a challenge, is organised in their workflow, has good communication skills, has an eye for detail, creative flair and is keen to learn, develop and become an integral part of a growing company.
You will support our main editor for most of the week, working on a range of projects such as educational, promotional, BTS and documentary productions. This part of the role will involve preparing footage for editing, communicating with our clients on their project progress and taking a film from the initial rushes to a fully-polished, client-ready edit.
There will be the potential for at least 2 days of camera operator responsibilities every week, but this will vary on demand. These responsibilities will include preparing equipment for filming, working alongside the director on shoots and organising the equipment and footage afterwards. Our camera operator will need to be a creative individual with a good eye, we are not looking for someone who only has broadcast experience.
[Our work includes post-graduate level online courses, these courses can cover highly complex subject matters and will involve the use of technical language]
You must be able to provide us with examples of previous work, ideally whole pieces such as short films or corporate pieces for us to review. We would like to see a range of previous work, including pieces you have edited and pieces you have filmed.
The ideal candidate will have been editing videos for a minimum of 3 years and will have worked successfully as a freelance editor or as a full-time editor at another video production company for a minimum of 1 year. Although we don’t expect professional experience with camera operating, we do need you to have at least a basic technical understanding of high-end video production equipment.
[Salary will be dependent on experience]
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £20,000.00 – £30,000.00 per year
Although the video editing requirements of this role can potentially be done from home, we will require the individual for this position to join our director on shoots. Every shoot will have the necessary PPE provided and a full risk assessment.
