Potboiler Productions is an Award-winning British film production company requiring a highly qualified, fully motivated individual to facilitate projects and closely assist main producer.

Main duties of the role include;

  • Identify the objectives of the company for different projects and

liaise with the Lead Producer, the Head of Finance, Head of

Production, and Head of Creative Affairs as and when required

to coordinate diaries, collate relevant documents, contribute to

plans for industry events, such as premieres and festivals etc.

  • Draw up a detailed plan of how to manage the running of several

productions concurrently and how to achieve each stage of

each production; including closing paperwork, supporting the

line producer, production coordinator, cast and crew, helping to

deliver scripts, clearances, travel etc.

  • Contribute to drafting and maintaining executive summaries,

pitch docs and funding presentations.

  • To manage the logistics and bookings for each of several

productions as and when required to ensure each stage of the

production progresses on time.

  • To work closely with the Head of Production and Head of

Finance (managing Film/TV funding applications) on plans to

secure funding, manage legal documents, negotiate services,

ensuring tasks are within budget and completed in time to

standard.

  • To liaise with the Head of Creative Affairs to manage the

submissions log, reading scripts and books, attending

screenings, undertaking research, write development notes and

coverage etc and ensure all timescales are met.

  • To manage publicity materials at relevant events, such as

festivals throughout the year, negotiating with contractors and

suppliers for materials and services to ensure sales agents and

distributors have the material needed for each production on

time and within budget.

  • To manage the office assistant and any applicable junior staff to

assist with production project deadlines.

  • Regular reporting of progress to the Head of Finance, Head of

Production, and Head of Creative, as relevant, on progress of

each production.

Our ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills gained within the film industry:

  • Experience of working in a notable Film/TV production company

liaising with the senior management, to meet company

objectives for different projects

  • Experience of working in a notable Film/TV production company

drawing up a detailed plan to manage the running of several

productions concurrently and how to achieve each stage of

each production.

  • Experience within a notable Film/TV company drafting and

maintaining executive summaries, pitch docs and funding

presentations.

  • Experience of working in a notable Film/TV production company

managing the logistics and bookings for several productions as

and when required to ensure each stage of the production

progresses on time.

  • Experience of working with senior management to secure

Film/TV funding, manage legal documents, negotiate services

ensuring tasks are within budget and completed in time to

standard.

  • Experience of liaising with senior management to manage the

submissions log, reading scripts and books, attending

screenings, undertaking research, writing development notes

and coverage etc and ensure all timescales are met on time.

  • Experience of working in a notable Film/TV production company

managing publicity materials at relevant events, such as

festivals throughout the year and negotiating with contractors

and suppliers for materials and services.

  • Experience of working in a notable Film/TV production company

managing junior staff to assist with production project

deadlines.

  • Experience of working in a notable Film/TV production company

reporting regularly to senior management on progress of each

production.

  • A bachelor’s degree in either English or Film Studies.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Film and/or TV production

role, with notable personal credits.

  • Experience in both US and UK markets with A-list talent.

International experience beyond both markets is an asset and of

notable Film Festivals.

  • Professional experience with a notable production company of

the TV and Film industry landscape, including literary and talent

agents; studios; financiers; of new and established

screenwriting and directing talent and operational aspects of

the industry.

  • A keen enthusiasm for, and broad knowledge of, entertainment

and culture. In particular TV, film, literature, theatre, journalism

and an open-minded attitude towards material.

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced and detail-oriented

environment with excellent organisational skills; Strong IT skills;

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential data and interface at

professionally appropriate levels.
