Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield, Hertfordshire
We are seeking a lecturer in post-production sound. You will join our lively film and TV teaching team who provide a dynamic education with a strong industry focus for our students.
Main duties and responsibilities
You will be expected to teach high level creative practice in Film and TV with a focus on Sound in the School of Creative Arts. You will be contributing, as part of a team, to the BA and MA Film and TV programme and other related courses as well as ensuring that the day to day running of the modules is balanced and coherent. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching relevant creative skills both in general production and in a specialist area. You will also teach students how to efficiently use relevant software packages and contemporary location sound equipment.
An important aspect of this role is to assist in developing students professional skills, in addition to this, building and maintaining relevant industrial contacts and making annual contributions to academic research. You will be able to get involved with the design and development of teaching, learning and assessment materials for a range of modules.
Skills and experience
You will be a creative practitioner working in a relevant area of practice. You will have experience of different professional environments and demonstrate an understanding of the social, economic and culutural debates that underpin contemporary film and TV production. You will already have some experience of teaching advanced technical and creative skills in film and TV post production sound at HE Level.
The post holder will be required to hold a relevant honours degree and will have significant high level industrial experience.
