Assisting production teams with administrational needs in the office; logging release paperwork, helping with petty cash records, backing up & logging film rushes and sourcing music for edits
Assisting the Head of Production with general office management
Assisting the Production Manager in copyright clearance process for music & archive
Assisting production team on location including runner duties and support to the small documentary film crew
Under guidance, working as a camera assistant to a self-shooting Director and operating the boom mic when necessary
Writing (transcribing) scripts from edited documentary cuts and working with Directors on Voice Over scripting
Attending creative development meetings and brainstorming ideas for new programmes
Researching new ideas and assisting with treatment writing for broadcasters with the help of the creative team
Opportunity to edit taster tape material from development ideas
Assisting the Production Manager with the asset delivery process and (with guidance) completing the postproduction paperwork for the broadcaster

Minimum 6 GCSE’s grade A*-C/9-4 including maths & English.
Media Studies or Film Studies at AS or A-Level would be a bonus.
Future prospects
The successful applicant will have an amazing opportunity to be involved in and learn the full production process from start to finish on documentary making. The apprentice will finish the course with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the production and editorial side of the process and will have their name on the credit of broadcast programmes.
Things to consider
From 1st April 2019 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.90 per hour. This applies to 16-18-year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
