Station Manager is responsible for all matters related to the policies and procedures and the continued running of the TV station.
Responsible for setting long-term goals and short-term goals of the station.
The position requires a positive, motivated person with a good understanding of the technical, legal, and human resource requirements for running a television station.
Set weekly department goals for production, programming and advertising.
Coordinate all production, programming, advertising, and operational activities of the station with other staff.
Choose a second-in-command who fills in when the station manager is not present.
Work with staff and volunteers to train staff in production quality.

- Pay is a lump sum contingent on meeting the responsibilities and qualifications of the position consistent with a minimum of 20 hours of competent effort each week.
Be available in the office during business hours to address clients’ or staffers’ inquiries and concerns.
Assist with interviewing and hiring staffers, as well as with training and disciplining (when needed) staffers.
Supervise and spot check staffers’ performance and clients’ satisfaction.
Stay aware of trends in the industry.
Attend advisory board meetings in keeping with Spinnaker Media Advisory Board bylaws, as well as weekly leader meetings unless excused for absence.
Oversee and enforce department policies and Spinnaker Media bylaws;
Follows and instills the ethics and laws of the bodies (such as SPJ, FCC, the Constitution) that pertain to their department.
Communicate with staff and fellow leaders according to department policies.
Produce budget requests and presentations when needed.
- Must be continuously enrolled at UNF for the duration of the position (and available for a minimum of 16 weeks per semester) and not be on academic probation or suspension according to the most recent UNF course catalog as defined by the most-recent University of North Florida course catalog.
