PHOTOGRAPHER (COSS-19-1133-W):

Bowhead seeks a Photographer for an opportunity in Panama City, FL. The Photographer will be responsible for producing specialized still photography as well as video recording and editing of Naval Surface Warfare Center – Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) project test and evaluation (T&E) activities. The Photographer will use mainstream photographic and non-linear video editing hardware and software and will be required to work in unusual environments at times, including aboard a helicopter or a ship at sea. This position requires the ability to work effectively for up to sixteen (16) hours per day in harsh or unstable environments, such as aboard a helicopter or vessel at sea, and will occasionally sleep aboard the vessels overnight. The Photographer will be required to travel to areas away from Panama City for up to two weeks at a time.

Essential functions may include:

  • Performing photographic laboratory duties including image processing, manipulation, printing and production
  • Will use mainstream photographic and non-linear video editing hardware and software including digital still and video cameras, broadcast cameras, NewTek TriCaster, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe AfterEffects, and CorelDRAW
  • Using past experience, will be responsible for setting up and operating photographic equipment to produce effective results in stable and unusual environments and must be capable of performing at a high level for up to sixteen (16) hours per day when required
  • Will work alongside engineers to devise equipment and installations to work in various environments
  • Will provide photographic support at ceremonies, news events and to visitors and will be expected to be able to arrange groups and individuals for the best artistic value
  • Performing portrait photography in the studio using backdrops, lighting and cameras most suited for the photographs required

    Requirements

  • An Associate’s degree or equivalent education in Photography or Videography is required in addition to a minimum of five (5) years of work experience as a technical photographer or videographer
  • Demonstrable experience producing stills and motion pictures including high-speed photography and video
  • Demonstrable experience selecting, arranging and framing scenes for effective results using the best cameras, lenses, filters, lighting and backdrops
  • Prior experience supporting ceremonies and events in both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. To receive and respond to instructions/assignments, must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
