SUMMARY OF POSITION
Candidate will help support and maintain the operations of a Christian television production department. As such, one must have a basic working knowledge and possess the capabilities to produce, edit, shoot, color grade, direct, write, light, organize and research video productions for WLMB-TV 40 and RadiantTV. The individual must perform these tasks and responsibilities to the highest standards of excellence and professionalism associated with WLMB-TV 40. This position will report to the Senior V.P. of Production and will primarily focus on producing long-form local studio program productions and RadiantTV, but will also assist with commercials, promotions, and PSA’s. Candidate will also ideally have a good understanding of computer systems integration and be able to assist troubleshooting computers in the production department and studio.
Producer/Director– Provide technical assistance and creative insight into productions including weekly shows, commercials, promotions, and fundraising spots. Good communication skills a must.
Video Editor – Use Final Cut Pro X non-linear video editing systems and other computer-based editing software to assemble and output media content. Must be creative and possess the ability to initiate new ideas as well as follow directions. Experience with non-linear editors is a must as well as good “storytelling” through editing. Proficiency with Final Cut Pro X, Motion, and Resolve are desired. Experience in compositing with strong graphics skills in Motion, After Effects or other 3D programs are a plus. Also, use of the Adobe Creative Cloud software programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, and more are not uncommon for this position.
Studio and Field Production – Capture video either on location or in a production studio using professional cameras, sound, and lighting equipment. Candidate must possess the knowledge to set up and operate equipment to its fullest extent and understand the principles of directing, lighting, and composition. Individual must also be willing to carry heavy equipment (up to 80 lbs) both in the field or studio.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must be able to handle pressure as well as be able to work under deadlines and demanding schedules. Also, candidate must work well with others (especially clients), be a diligent worker with initiative, and be a natural problem solver. Candidate should exhibit professionalism, a keen eye for detail, creative ideas under pressure, and excellent multitasking and organizational skills. Other beneficial skills might include voice-over abilities, audio engineering, graphic design, 3D graphics, web design, marketing, set design or carpentry experience, journalism, and/or photography.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree is preferred, as well as 2-3 years of experience in film, television, or other media-related fields.
Office hours generally fall between Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. However, hours outside the “general” office hours will be expected particularly during special projects, events and fundraisers, which will occasionally include evenings and weekends and a couple of times a year may require travel to destinations across the U.S. for several days at a time.
