Under general supervision, the class coordinates daily operations and creates playback schedules at the city’s cable station, and performs related duties as required.

  • Collaborates with the Station Manager in creating daily, weekly and monthly programming schedules for Channel 25
  • Programs video server to play digital show files for correct day and time
  • Logs and tracks incoming video cassettes and files for channel 25 in order to locate requested files
  • Consults with program producers and production company staff to ensure that received shows are scheduled and broadcasted in a timely manner
  • Assists production crews with the creation of live and recorded programming
  • Performs quality assurance check by reviewing programs for any technical or content issues submitted by local producers
  • Participates in post-production activities (e.g., editing, taping), for Channel 25 and the Web, as required

Shift: Monday – Friday 4 PM to midnight, weekends & holidays 8 AM to 4 PM and/or 4 PM to midnight (2 Vacancies) (Vacation relief, Monday – Friday 8 AM to 4 PM may be required)



Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Television Production, Film/Video, Communications or a directly related field plus two years of work experience in video production or editing or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Selection Criteria
This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the interview will be selected.

Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:

  • Previous experience using Skylark 3000 Series SL NEO multichannel video server with Air Manager and Multiscreen software package
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Previous experience using non-linear edit system (Adobe Premier Pro ((After Effects, Photoshop and other related programs a plus,)) Final Cut Pro, Avid.)
  • Previous experience using waveform and vector scope, time base corrector, professional video tape player and audio mixer
  • Proficiency with operating master control systems
  • Previous experience operating professional video camera, audio, and lighting equipment
