WGBH Boston is America’s preeminent public broadcaster and the largest producer of PBS content for TV and the Web, including the national series Frontline, Nova, American Experience, Masterpiece, Antiques Roadshow, and more than a dozen other prime-time and lifestyle series.

In addition to the national series, WGBH is also one of the major producers of children’s programming for PBS and is also a key player in the production of audio programming through its relationship with the public media podcast producer and distributor, PRX. WGBH is a leader in the creation of educational assets for teachers, and developed what became PBS LearningMedia, a massive, free source of educational assets for K-12 teachers across the country.

In over 50 years of active production, WGBH has been recognized with every major award in broadcast and digital media excellence, including Emmys, Peabodys, and Columbia-duPont Awards.

For more than three decades, American Experience has been the most-watched and is now the most-streamed history series in the US. The series has been hailed as “peerless” (The Wall Street Journal), “the most consistently enriching program on television” (Chicago Tribune), and “a beacon of intelligence and purpose” (Houston Chronicle). On air and online, the series brings to life the incredible characters and epic stories that have shaped America’s past and present.

WGBH seeks a dynamic leader to run its legendary American history series. This creative individual will oversee all production for the series.
