At The Grommet, we are driven to create a world where Independent Makers and small businesses can find their people and grow their businesses. For more than 10 years, we have been helping consumers discover independently-made products from local makers and small businesses, and helping the people behind those products succeed. Household names like S’well bottle, Bombas and Simplisafe were all Grommet discoveries – in those cases and thousands of others, we help Makers launch products with brand and distribution control to be successful when they graduate from our launch platform.
We are now seeking a digitally native Creative Director to be a key leader in our journey. Reporting to our Chief Marketing Officer, The Grommet’s Creative Director will directly manage our in-house creative team as well as all external brand and creative agencies.
The right candidate for this role will have both a strong creative vision and ability to articulate that vision through Art, Photo, Video, Design and Copy direction, as well as the people and process expertise to run our in-house agency in a deadline-oriented and highly accountable production environment.
This role comes at a unique point in The Grommet’s journey. In 2020, we will be redefining and relaunching our consumer-facing brand, and the Creative Director will play a key role in that work.
Hire, train, and directly manage The Grommet’s Creative team of 10 Designers, Copywriters, Photographers, and Videographers
Oversee development and execution of all creative that represents the Grommet brand and our products through full marketing funnel, across in-house team and agency partner
In parallel, lead work with external agency/ies (to be selected) to redefine and then articulate the refined Grommet brand across all consumer-facing touchpoints (2020 start)
Collaborate closely with Digital Marketing / Media, Engineering, Product and UI/UX to accomplish the above in alignment with each of those teams’ objectives
Manage the creative process from concept to completion, including prioritization,, workflow, budget, and deliverables
Portfolio of integrated marketing and/or brand campaigns as well as owned executions
Experience managing internal teams and agencies in a fast-paced and high accountability environment
Data-driven, with experience utilizing partners for research and measurement (ie brand attribution, emotion mapping, user research)
Experience defining and launching / relaunching consumer brands in the digital space preferred
