KXAN-TV Austin has an immediate opening for a Lifestyle Producer/Videographer. Join a creative, fun and entertaining team delivering local stories that highlight all the great things about Austin. Candidate must have extensive producing, shooting and non-linear editing experience. If you can be handed a project and take it all the way from idea to finished product you are the person we are looking for.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for producing, writing, shooting and editing sales and non-sales segments for Studio 512. Works closely with sales to conceptualize, write, shoot and edit client segments. Create and produce digital videos for all web/social platforms. Create compelling and innovative graphics that drive attention to client and show brands.
Must be creative and multi-skilled. Experience editing in Avid is preferred and Adobe is required. Must have experience with After Effects, Photoshop, Video cameras, audio and lighting. Able to meet tight deadlines, juggle multiple projects at once and work well under pressure. Candidate must be a good communicator, organized and most importantly a team player.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a producer/shooter/editor. Please provide resume and demo reel.
Bachelors’ degree in Art, Design or Broadcasting preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The Producer/Videographer must be able to stand, sit, operate a motor vehicle, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
In addition, the Producer/Videographer must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls for extended periods of time. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
