Full Job Description

Lake Travis Film Festival is looking for a social media wizard to deepen relationships with our current community as well as gain exposure to new audiences. Must understand the analytics behind the postings to measure and grow following.

Through relevant engaging content, thoughtful responses, careful curation of photos, and the right voice, it is important to instill the unique energy of our festival into our daily social media presence.

Our brand is playful and casual but ambitious. We’re just outside of Austin, or as we call it, just west of weird, we love to party, yet we also enjoy meaningful conversations and promoting all aspects of our industry.

We are looking for the right passionate person to treat our accounts like an extension of their own personal social channels. You take deep pride in getting likes, comments, tags, exposure, new followers, etc. Someone who understands this industry is fast-paced and who is available to make changes with brief notice is crucial. Knowledge about Film Festivals and Indie Film are very important. Our audience are filmmakers and screenwriters.

Work wherever you like and check in with us weekly. Keep an online spreadsheet of followers and engagement numbers weekly in order to track growth.

We have a plethora of content that needs to be organized, dissected and posted.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Social media experience
  • Up-to-date understanding of festival culture both on and offline
  • Responsive and flexible
  • Excellent writing skills and creativity
  • Able to use our posting software (PromoRepublic) and have good design aesthetics
  • Good energy and attitude
  • Willingness to help grow a film festival’s social media in it’s “start-up” stage

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Executive Director and other Festival Teams to develop the posting calendar and plan to meet festival goals and needs.
  • Help us build an overarching social media content strategy, an up-to date brand guide, and social media plan to meet the organization’s goals and needs over time.
  • Build brand awareness, and help us set our KPIs, grow our audience and engagement, and expand marketing efforts through social media,
  • Use our scheduling tool to set up monthly content calendars with 3-5 posts per week in FB, IG, and Twitter. IG takes a two-step process to post.
  • Be available to drop in timely notices and reminders that are not on the calendar
  • Develop, listen, and monitor relationships with followers by responding to DMs and comments with insightful thoughts and interactions.
  • Monitor other events and festivals to stay up-to-date on the newest digital tactics
  • Run on-site socials at events. (ie. instagram stories, live tweets, FB live etc.)
  • Encourage alumni filmmakers to post about our festival and their screenings
  • Cover LTFF business partners and share the love
  • Promote our hotels and local locations
  • Help create visual brand guides on Canva or Adobe Spark in addition to communicating with graphic designers to make necessary graphics if it’s not your jam.
  • Create detailed ask lists for photographers at events for you to use
  • Post and explore non-traditional platforms ex: Reddit/Pinterest/tik tok
  • Report on performance with metrics and brainstorm new ideas with team
