General Overview:

LCRA is happy to announce that we have an opening for a senior level audio visual technician. At a senior level, the aduio visual technician will provides a/v expertise, support and operation at all board functions. This includes monthly board meeting in Austin, out of town meetings, community events, customer meetings and town hall meetings. Handles confidential and sensitive information with discretion. This position utilizes in-depth knowledge of best practices and experience in own discipline to provide and improve services. Works independently and receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May direct the work of other staff member as needed.

  • Operates audio/visual equipment, designs systems and provides maintenance services.
  • Provides expertise in determining audio/visual technical support and operations at all board meetings, committee meetings and other General Manager level meetings.
  • Provides audio/visual technical support and operations as needed at all meetings at LCRA facilities.
  • Provides coordination of all audio/visual presentations to Board of Directors at all board of Directors and Committee meetings.
  • Provides audio/visual recording, editing and duplication services, both internally and externally.
  • Operates, maintains and programs GOC CATV System.
  • Performs work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations as scheduled.

Minimum Qualifications:

Four or more years experience in audio/visual technology operations.

Driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Radio TV Film or similar.

Knowledge of video camera and switcher operation.

Experience with Extron, Crestron, or Bi-Amp programming or set up.

Experience with matrix switching.

Installation & integration experience of projectors, microphones, racks, screens, televisions, cabling, etc.

Experience with management of on premises and cloud base Web Conferencing and Video Teleconferencing systems.

Live-sound reinforcement experience.

Knowledge of design techniques and principals involved in the application and interpretation of precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.

Knowledge of current commercial-construction techniques and procedures as they pertain to A/V integration.

Knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience using acoustic evaluation programs.

Completion of a technical course in a/v.

Experience in all phases of installing audio and/or video equipment, including: pulling and terminating control and audio cables; mounting projection and sound equipment; wiring audio and video patch bays; configuring and wiring control systems; and interconnecting installed equipment.

Experience giving and following instructions.

Experience with Macintosh and Windows computers.

Experience with audio and video production hardware and software.

Experience in setting up and operating streaming equipment.

Experience in operating CL series Yamaha mixing board.
