We’re looking for a natural-born video storyteller to join USA TODAY’s video team to edit videos for YouTube and OTT platforms. If you can’t wait to dive into an Adobe project and create something amazing for millions of people to see, then we need you!

The USA TODAY Digital Video Editor will be responsible for coming up with new video ideas using USA TODAY Network’s video content, third-party content, and evergreen content to expand our footprint in digital media. This person will utilize a massive library of existing video content and come up with innovative video compilations for OTT platforms and YouTube.

The USA TODAY Digital Video Editor will work alongside teams such as the Humankind brands (Animalkind, Humankind, Militarykind), as well as News, special projects and Sports, to help increase their video content offerings on OTT platforms and YouTube.

The right candidate should be familiar with creating mid- and long-form digital videos. This editor will work with the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically After Effects and Premiere. The ideal USA TODAY Digital Video Editor will dig into templates to optimize and change graphics to complete new video compilations. The ideal editor candidate is excited to see their content go viral and passionate about the success of the USA TODAY Video brand as a whole.

The right candidate will also be a team player with excellent communication skills, is quick to respond to requests and assignments, is receptive to feedback, and is a self-starter who can juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

Atlanta, New York, Phoenix, Washington D.C. only.


  • Editing original video and photo content using the Adobe Suite
  • Finding and pitching unique mid to long form video ideas
  • Organize and manage media for USA TODAY Video brands


  • 2-5 years of editing experience
  • Editorial storytelling experience preferred
  • Mandatory experience editing for news and/or digital
  • Motion graphics editing is a plus
  • Excellent communications skills, online and in person, with the community and fellow journalists.
  • Works collaboratively with a passionate and highly motivated team of videographers, reporters, editors and producers.
  • Experience using After Effects, Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop is a must
  • Working knowledge of the best types of videos for variety of video platforms including YouTube and OTT.
