Cox Automotive is hiring a Communications Specialist. The Communications Specialist is responsible for writing, editing and delivering high quality internal communications for Client Operations team members through a variety of channels. Working closely with communicators supporting the different Cox Automotive brands, the specialist will be responsible for day-to-day communications project management and for communications plan execution.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled writer and editor, knowledgeable about a variety of traditional and developing communications channels, a fast learner, a self-starter and a team player. A solid understanding of the automotive industry, as well as Cox Automotive Retail Solutions is strongly preferred.


  • Source, write, edit and publish inspiring and informative content for service team members.
  • Write, edit and project manage key employee communications publications.
  • Act as day-to-day owner of business unit intranet homepages.
  • Develop and maintain technical skills to support sending large employee emails, planning and executing webcasts and web conferences, and similar projects.
  • Assist in creating and updating PowerPoint presentations
  • Partner with senior leadership of the Client Operations team to help develop communications plans and support change management initiatives.
  • Track, analyze and report metrics to demonstrate effectiveness of employee communications programs.
  • Serve as the communications expert on various projects and initiatives in order to design, develop and execute communications plans and materials to meet the needs of service team members.
  • Organize and support Town Meetings and special events such as Customer Service Week.
  • Assist in facilitating meetings, trainings, and events.
  • Support the development and maintenance of content related to Client Operations learning and development.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, public relations, communications or related field preferred
  • Generally, three years minimum experience in internal communications
  • Experience communicating to service teams, as well as to a broad base employee population
  • Experience with change management practices and initiatives
  • Design experience utilizing digital tools
  • Open-minded, flexible, adaptable to change and strong team player
  • Must be able to prioritize work on a daily basis and be comfortable with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment
  • Superb writing and editing skills and a strong sense of narrative and story-telling.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • Able to treat confidential material appropriately
  • Ability to deliver content under tight deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of the automotive industry and Cox Automotive Retail Solutions
  • Experience with film, video, and multi-media editing a plus
  • Facilitation experience a plus
